Explore Bhutan 7 Nights and 8 Days

Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalaya's eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger's Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Paro

  • During this journey, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchanjunga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Jhomolhari and 

  • Mount Jichu Drake in Bhutan on clear weather.

  • On arrival at Paro International Airport, the representative will receive you and drive you to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. 

  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2

Thimphu

  • Leisure time around Thimphu city after breakfast, we will drop you in the center of the city, and you can stroll around. There are good coffee shops around such as Ambient Caf, Art Caf, The Zone, and Coffee Culture etc.

  •  Lunch on your own. At 3:30 PM, your pick up arrives to drive you to the hotel. 

  • In the Evening visit Tashichoe Dzong. Known as "fortress of the glorious religion," Tashichho Dzong, or popularly known as Thimphu Dzong, is an impressive structure that houses the King's Office and residence for Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot) and stands on the right side of the Wangchu River (Thimphu Chhu).

  • Visit Buddha Point, the highest sitting Buddha in the world, which is 51 meters tall, overlooking the Thimphu valley.

  • Dinner at the hotel. 

  • Around 8 PM, drive back to the city for the nightlife (Depends on availability)

Day 3

Thimphu to Punakha

  • Post breakfast, drive east of Thimphu, climbing steadily towards Dochula pass at an altitude of 10,000 feet. 

  • A group of 108 stupas and prayer flags greets you as you reach the summit. Located between Thimphu and Punakha, Dochula pass is the highest point on your trip; if weather permits, you will be able to view whole Eastern Himalayan Ranges forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquillity of the 108 stupas gracing the mountain pass. Known as Druk Wangyel Chorten - the construction of these 108 stupas was commissioned by Her Majesty, the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, in 2004. 

  • The descent from the pass-through temperate forests coloured with rhododendrons and magnolias, down to the semitropical zone of orange, banana, and cactuses. Will serve your lunch at Chimi Lhakhang Caf

  • Visit Punakha Dzong after lunch, which is about 30 minutes drive from your lunch spot. Punakha Dzong, built in the 17th century and served as the capital of Bhutan for more than 400 years; today, it is winter home to the Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot and monk body.

  •  It also serves as the administrative headquarters for the Punakha district.

  •  Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4

Punakha

  • Post breakfast, drive along the Mochu River for Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. 

  • It stands out on a beautiful ridge above the Punakha valley. 

  • The stupa is dedicated to our fifth King and serve to protect the country. 

  • A bridge provides access to a sweaty 45 minutes hikes uphill to the stupa. 

  • Lunch at the hotel. 

  • Post lunch drive for Nunnery, where you will be able to see Wangdue Phodrang. (another district in the south of Punakha.)

Day 5

Punakha - Thimphu

  • Post breakfast, you'll depart for Thimphu. A few photos stop on the way. 

  • After lunch, visit the school of 13 Art and Craft known as the painting school. 

  • Visit the National Library, which houses all the sacred Buddhist texts.

  • Drive for Handicraft Emporium. 

  • In the evening, drive to drive to Takin Zoo. 

  • Takin is a National Animal of Bhutan. 

  •  Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6

Paro

  • Early morning drive for Paro. A day hike to Taktsang Monastery, Tiger's Nest. 

  • This magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 9,700 ft above the valley floor. 

  • It is believed that Guru Rimpoche flew here on the back of the Tigress and meditated here for almost 3 months. 

  • Later most of the renowned Buddhist saints visited the place. Lunch at Teahouse.

Day 7

Paro

  • Following breakfast, we will visit the National Museum, and it served as a watchtower during the civil war in the 17th century and 1968, it was converted to the National Museum. Visit Rinpong Dzong, build in 1646 by Zhabdrung Nawang Namgay, is the office for the Governor of Paro District and house the Monk Body. 

  • Lunch in the Town. 

  • Post lunch, visit Kyichu Temple, founded in the 6th century by the Tibetan King, to subdue a giant demon.

  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 8

Departure

  • Drive to Paro airport for flight to your onward destination. 

  • Your escort will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.

  • Accommodation on Double / Twin Sharing Basis as Per Package Selected. Daily Breakfast.

  • All Sightseeing as per Itinerary.  

  • All Transportation and Sightseeing by A/C Vehicle

Exclusion

  • Any personal expenses or optional tours.

  • Any extra meals ordered.  

  • Tips, Insurance, Laundry, and Phone calls.  

  • Any Drinks (Alcoholic, Mineral, Aerated) excluded from the package.  

  • Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/ stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks and any factors beyond control.

  • Any services not mentioned in the inclusion list.

Terms

  • Booking rates are subject to change without prior notice.

  • All transfers and sightseeing shall be provided by an exclusive vehicle unless otherwise specified.

  • Tour-programme is subject to change depending upon circumstances.    

  • Nufly Tours reserve the right to modify the itinerary at any point of time, due to many reasons including but not limited to force majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, flights, cancellation (or) re-routing of flights, closure (or) entry restrictions at a place of a visit, etc. In the occurrence of any unfortunate events, we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements. (Note: We would not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.)

  • The cost of deviation and extension of your ticket validity is not included in the package.

  • For all disputes of whatsoever, nature relating to the tours marketed/coordinated by NUFLY Tours. The courts in the state of Tamil Nadu shall alone have jurisdiction, and the Laws of the Republic of India shall apply.

Cancellation

  • 25 % of the package cost will be charged if cancelled before 20 days of the departure date.

  • 50 % of the package cost if cancelled before 15 days of the departure date.

  • 75 % of the package cost if cancelled before 8 days of the departure date.

  • No Refund to avail if cancelled before 7 days of the departure date.
